Tractor Mac Builds A Barn

Tractor Mac Builds A Barn
by PicPocket Books

Can I move?  Yes, I can.  I have wheels! I have got to use them!   This was the motto of Tractor Mac.  An inspirational and educational book all in one.  If your child likes Bob the Builder or even books written by Jon Scieszka, then your little reader will LOVE this story.  As I listened to this book so many connections were made with my own family.  The illustrations were incredible.  It truly felt like I had the actual hard copy book in the palm of my hand.  Like many other stories by PicPocket Books, this too had a new feature of interactivity.  Just enough to get all the senses involved while reading.  In addition, the narrator, Billy Steers put a great amount of emotion which enhanced a number of pieces of figurative language that were incorporated into this story.

Who doesn’t have a toddler or even a “tween” that thinks they know it all and what their role is in life?  This book teaches many lessons with the help of animated machines and farm animals.  Tractor Mac was always too busy moving that he never realized that there are other things that a tractor can do.  Little did Mac know that regardless of whether or not he was moving across the fields he was still important to Farmer Bill.

My little critic and I are huge advocates of PicPocket.  For the next version of Tractor Mac Builds A Barn, it might be helpful to have at the end of the book, the option to read the book again.  I know my biggest critic would love to read it again!  If you would like to learn more about PicPocket Books, please visit them at http://www.picpocketbooks.com/ or if you would like to download Tractor Mac Builds A Barn, be sure to download it from your itunes account here.

  1. Thank you for such a nice review—Billy really enjoyed working with PicPocket to create apps for Tractor Mac as well as doing the readings for the stories. It has been fun to see the books in this form! The tractor sound effect is actually our tractor (which has been modified to look like Tractor Mac). Glad to hear that you and your family enjoy the books/apps!
